Job Summary:
Ship and record the movement of produce, load trailers with supplies and stock to and from the warehouse and to customers, using specialized lifts and trucks
Responsibilities:
- Collect and stage orders and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, PO #’s or pick ticket orders to verify accuracy
- Operate a sit-down forklift to unload and load trucks
- Conduct daily equipment inspections
- Keep a proper rotation in coolers with lot codes using the FIFO system
- Perform duties in compliance with food safety and health & safety guidelines
- Other core expectations as defined by the company
Required Skills/Experience/Education:
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience on a sit-down forklift or electric hand jack
- Previous experience in a produce packing/warehouse or comparable environment is preferred
- Attention to detail even under tight deadlines
- Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Must have safe driving skills
- Must have excellent attendance and a good work ethic
- Ability to read/write English; good communication skills
Work Conditions:
This job operates within a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation.
Physical Requirements (If applicable):
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; twist; use hands to handle or feel product or packaging; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves walking and lifting up to 50-pounds occasionally. Visual requirements.
