Job Summary:

Supervise shipping operations and staff to ensure timely and efficient workflow, while meeting targets as well as quality and food safety standards.


  • Problem solving skills – missing goods, shortages, organizational skills, making adjustments for frequent interruptions and changing priorities caused by rush orders and delays
  • Physically able to lift, stack, sit or stand for long periods of time monitor the quantity and quality of product ensuring that it is of the required standard
  • Monitor the working environment to ensure that company and statutory hygiene, and safety policies and procedures are complied with
  • Maintain and review all necessary packing records
  • Maintain inspection of labeling and packaging specifications
  • Motivate, train, coach, and discipline employees
  • Communicate all variances in packaging or quality to proper management immediately
  • Ensure product allocation is correct and allocation procedures are followed in the database system
  • Observe and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to sustain a safe work environment

Required Skills/Experience/Education:

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred
  • Previous packing or production processing experience and produce experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required
  • Ability to multi-task with daily competing priorities and staggered deadlines
  • Positive attitude, hardworking, self-motivated, honest, good decision maker, and levelheaded
  • Ability to work in a high stress and fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and the PrimusGFS program
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • The employee will need to listen and talk to other employees as well

Work Conditions:

  • Cold environment where the temperature ranges between 45 – 50 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Some occasional heavy lifting, up to 50lbs., is required
  • Standing, walking and sitting for an extended period of time may be required.
  • Available to work flexible hours including occasional overtime during peak volume periods as well as holidays
