Job Summary:
The Facility Sanitation Technician is responsible for safe and effective sanitization all production equipment and the distribution center facility. The role will ensure compliance with all statutory governing regulations, Good Manufacturing Processes, Food Safety, Health and Safety and company standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities:
- Follow master sanitation schedule; maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of the distribution center facility
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaner and floor scrubber; remove dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse
- Operate scissor lifts and sky jack equipment to clean internal and external air conditioning units, upper facility walls and windows; work at heights of up to 30 feet
- Operate power washing equipment and chemical sanitation cleaners
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies; by hand and/or mechanical device
- Monitor restrooms for cleanliness and supplies; clean, sweep and mop restroom, floors and hallways, empty and clean waste containers
- Monitor exterior building and grounds; empty waste containers, pick up garbage and debris from dock wells and front and back parking lots; report issue and damage to personnel with authority
- Monitor and inventory cleaning supplies report needs; complete record of cleaning each shift
- Ensure that physical security, food safety and health and safety measures are consistently adhered to
- Other core expectations as defined by the company
Required Skills / Experience / Education:
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum one (1) year experience in facility sanitation or related field required
- Forklift certification and Work at Height certification preferred
- Must be a Self-starter; ability to work with little supervision
- Positive attitude, hardworking, honest, good decision maker, level-headed, and must be a good communicator both written and verbal
- Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet
Work Conditions:
- Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility required
- The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; twist; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves walking and regularly lifting up to 30-pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50-pounds regularly
- This job operates within a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation
- This role occasionally requires the employee to work at heights up to 30 feet using a platform lifting device
