Heat oil in a small skillet over medium heat and stir in 1 tablespoon of minced basil. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
Lightly toast slices of bread.
Rub garlic clove over toasted bread and lightly brush with seasoned, cooled oil.
Arrange a few fresh basil leaves on top and 3 tomato slices on each piece of toast, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
