When it comes to our health, choosing fresh organic greenhouse grown veggies is an easy win with the Pure Flavor® organics line. Our friend Jacie, a Certified Nutritionist and Wellness Chef shares her best advice for living an organic life and the benefits of incorporating more organic food into your diet.

Some days, going to the grocery store can seem intimidating while walking through the aisles with thousands of products to choose from. When it comes to healthy foods, it may be difficult to know if you are making food choices that align with your goals, and choosing organics may just be what you’ve been looking for. Interestingly enough, there is a special process that must be followed to be able to certify a product as organic and these extra steps are what sets organic produce apart from conventionally grown.

Shopping for Organics –

Sometimes I have those days where I am completely and utterly uninspired to cook. Although tempting to reach for the takeout menus, I usually end up heading to the grocery store instead for some much-needed inspiration. I may be in the minority, but I personally love grocery shopping! I enjoy the process of hunting for fresh and ripe ingredients like Organic Long English Cucumbers or Organic Luna® Sweets Cocktail. Since they are greenhouse grown, I am fortunate for them to be available all year round.

When searching the grocery store, there is nothing better for me than having access to organic produce. Beautiful, plump, and full of vibrant color and flavor. Not only has nutrient content been found to be denser in organically grown vegetables when compared to their conventionally grown counterparts, but I think they taste a lot better too!

Sometimes during those long winter months, finding fresh ingredients can be quite challenging. However, I can easily source products from the Pure Flavor® Organics line-up to ensure that my family has healthy, nutritious staples.

During cold and flu season, when we are spending so much time indoors, nourishing your body with a variety of fresh fruits and veggies is key to staying healthy. Filled with a whole series of antioxidants and phytonutrients, tomatoes are the perfect ingredient to add to your meal rotation. This is why I love Organic Sangria® Medley tomatoes and Organic Aurora Bites Mini Sweet Peppers. They are so easy to incorporate into my diet and are both delicious and versatile.

Cooking with Organics –

As a Certified Nutritionist and Wellness Chef, living ‘clean’ is very important to me and my family. Choosing organic when I can is one simple way to keep us on that path. Organic food is grown or produced without the use of harmful pesticides, fungicides, or chemical fertilizers. Choosing them can reduce our exposure to chemicals and lessen our toxic load which is always an ongoing battle for optimal health. They provide a higher level of nutrients and antioxidants which help fight inflammation and ward off sickness and viruses. Unfortunately, we can’t always avoid getting sick or injured, but we can speed up recovery or prevent it from getting worse by nourishing our bodies through food.

When I or someone in my family does start to feel run-down or ill, I always reach for food with powerful healing properties to get us through it faster. I love whipping up a good pot of soup or hearty stew, like this Tuscan White Bean Stew that is filled with nourishing ingredients full of vitamins, minerals, and antiviral properties. So when I come across fresh organic, greenhouse grown produce like Organic Juno® Bites Red Grape Tomatoes, I confidently bring them home to use for cooking. Not only does it make me feel better and recover faster, but I also have peace of mind about what I’m putting in my body to help it. For me, buying organic food when possible is a direct investment in your health and the variety of items in the Pure Flavor® Organics line-up makes grocery shopping that much easier.
